Mid-Year report

Here's a quick update on where the committee is with the things we said we'd do before the next AGM in May. We are looking for your help on the things that remain to do!

THINGS ACHIEVED

Increasing the number of productions/projects with more "one-offs" (readings, films, cabaret)
Organising more workshops (verse-speaking, new writing, singing, cabaret, acting)
Buying new lighting and sound equipment and curtains (partially complete)
Making a plan for handling our assets (costumes + set etc.)
Rebuilding the website
Adding lead-time for Summer and Xmas productions
making all committee decisions available for comment on the website
introducing a logo and "brand"
buying a sewing machine!

THINGS WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH
Contact chair@woodhouseplayers.co.uk if you would like to help with any of the below...

Organising a recruitment drive

We need to up the level of skills in Woodhouse, and in particular bring in more behind-the-scenes people for some roles that are listed at www.woodhouseplayers.co.uk/involved.html . This will take a bit of targeted recruitment, maybe to colleges, maybe to other organisations.

Attempting to raise money for better equipment

We have had a setback with fundraising, as we were unable to apply for a mainstream WFAC grant. We are looking to buy a few items at a few hundred each that will improve our shows and we need to get the money from somewhere! We need help, advice and elbow grease on fundraising.

Investigating external venues

We're trying to build up a list of all the possible external venues we might be able to use. We need some help to systematically contact venues, get hire fees, stage dimensions, seating statistics, typical box office arrangements. A good job for someone who loves phoning around!

Making cushion covers

Carla needs assistance in co-ordinating and doing this. If you're good with a sewing machine, you could help!
